Planning the Ultimate Valentine Treat?

Here we are, another Valentine’s Day in the not so distant future. What will you do this year for your special guy or gal? Decisions, decisions… will you whisk them off to Paris for a stroll around the Louvre, or ride the carousel in New York’s Central Park. Perhaps treating your lover to an operatic serenade, whilst gliding through the Venetian Canals in a gondola, is more your thing or a soothing soak in The Blue Lagoon, Reykjavik under a sky of Northern Lights. Maybe a trip to the French Alps, to smash the slopes then cuddle up with a brandy hot chocolate. Or consider hopping over to the Colca Canyon in Peru and watch the condors rise up majestically on the thermal streams…

Alternatively, a meal deal from M & S, flowers, chocolates, a curry and a box set or a visit to the “Card Factory” might be for you.

For those of you who love the idea of the opening paragraph, but read thinking “If only, I wish or dream on…” or more optimistically, “Definitely one day….” or on a practical front, “Great idea for next year when I can take time off work…” I’ve put together our Top 5 ideas for an alternative Valentine’s Celebration, which perhaps you can consider, wherever you are with whatever you have available, considering yours and your other half’s preferences… Or perhaps go wild and choose something completely different! You never know, it may well be the start of something lovely you can continue to enjoy together for the year to come.

Our Plans for February 14th

We’re in Costa Rica this Valentine’s Day, not sure what our day will entail – better get my thinking hat on! Hopefully the great outdoors will feature, a zip line or canopy walk followed by a bit of pampering. Although I’m not sure how conducive staying in a youth hostel is going to be… Perhaps I’ll order a shooting star whilst sipping cocktails on the beach. (Bug and people free of course!)
